Description
Whitegates is a house dating from the 17th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. It features a timber-frame structure with painted render infill, along with some brick and stone rebuilding. The house has a thatched roof and brick internal stacks, arranged in a three-unit plan with a flat-roofed extension to the left.
The exterior is single-storey plus attic and has a four-window range. There are two entrances at the left end; one has a plank door, while the entrance in the extension has a 20th-century door in a wooden frame. The entrance to the right of the center also features a plank door. The windows are 20th-century leaded casements, and there are two raking dormers with small two-light casements.
The interior has not been inspected, but it is noted to have a fireplace with a bressumer.
