Description

Cottage Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse, with alterations made during the mid-20th century, and an outshut to the rear. It is built with a roughcast timber frame, brick nogging, and a gabled tile roof. The original structure comprised two framed bays aligned east-west. The south-facing garden facade has two storeys. On the first floor is a single-light casement window. The ground floor features a central entrance with a wooden architrave and a partly glazed door, along with two three-light casement windows. The timber framing is arranged in three square panels in height. The interior of the right-hand room has a tie beam with a substantial chamfer. A large inglenook fireplace with a bressumer beam (partially blocked) is located in the left-hand side. The first floor retains an exposed wall plate.
