Description
This listing describes a row of three headstones located approximately 6 meters south of the east end of the nave of the parish church. The headstones are made of ironstone. The first headstone is dated 1755 and features scrolled shoulders, although the inscription is illegible. The second headstone is dated 1701 and has a scrolled head, serving as a memorial to Henry Stile. The third headstone, dated 1703, also has a scrolled head and is a memorial to Ann, the wife of Henry Stile. The Stile family is believed to have been millers who supplied the village of Compton Wynyates from the tower mill located to the north of the house.
