Description

This is a 17th-century farmhouse, dated 1703, located on Malt House Lane in Long Compton. It is constructed of fine squared coursed limestone with a coped gable to the left and has a stone-slate roof, featuring stone end stacks. The original building comprises three units and has a three-window front. The upper floor has 18th-century cross casement windows, while the ground floor has two- and three-light casements, all with stone flat arches. A panelled door with an overlight is centrally positioned. A datestone on the first floor, inscribed "G/NM/1703," is visible to the right. A moulded hood covers the datestone. A 19th-century gabled dormer window is present at the rear. To the right of the original farmhouse is a 19th-century three-storey range with a sash window on each floor. Attached to the left is a stone outbuilding containing two leaded-light casement windows and 20th-century garage doors. The interior has not been inspected.
