Description

The Lychgate is a cottage that has been modified to serve as a lychgate, dating from the late 16th century to early 17th century. It is constructed of squared coursed limestone and features some timber framing, with rendered and 20th-century brick infill. The thatched roof has a stone end stack. The building is two stories tall and has a one-window range, which includes one three-light casement window at the front and two two-light casements with wooden lintels on the right side. The left side has the remaining wall of a former adjoining cottage. An opening beneath the first floor features one chamfered spine beam with an ogee stop.
