Description
Nos. 48 and 49 on Main Street are a row of two cottages dating from the mid-18th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. They are constructed from squared coursed limestone and feature 20th-century tile roofs along with brick ridge and end stacks. The cottages have a two-unit plan and are two stories high, presenting a seven-window facade with three-light casements that have stone flat arches. There is a six-panelled door with stone flat arches located within 20th-century porches at the left and center. A gabled dormer is positioned at the far left. Inside, the cottages are noted for having chamfered spine beams. The buildings are included for their group value.
