Description

Springfield Bridge is an accommodation bridge built between 1825 and 1826 by John Rastrick, located over the Stratford and Moreton Tramway in Stratford-upon-Avon. The bridge is constructed of brick with ashlar dressings and features a round arch with ashlar imposts and a key, along with a cornice. It has a brick platt band and an ashlar-coped parapet. There is a worn stone plaque in the parapet on the north side. The tramway was an early public railway intended to connect to London but was limited to horse-drawn wagons and was closed around 1905.
