Description

The Web is a house that has been converted into a shop, dating back to around 1596, with the front rebuilt around 1818. It is constructed of brick and features a tile roof with a brick end stack, designed in an L-plan. The building exhibits Georgian style characteristics, standing three storeys tall with a single-window range. It has a top modillioned brick cornice. The early 20th-century shop front includes a canted window with an entrance to the left, featuring a 20th-century door and an entablature above. The first floor has a segmental-headed window with a large 6-pane sash that has a moulded frame, while the second floor has a window with a 9-pane sash. At the rear, there is a two-storey timber-framed wing with a 20th-century addition. Inside, the ground floor retains some exposed beams, including one that is broadly chamfered.
