Description

Church House is a house dating to the late 18th century, with alterations made in the early 19th century and further additions to the left. Some 20th-century alterations have also been made. The right-hand range is colourwashed brick, while the left-hand ranges have brick dentil cornices. The roof is tiled, with a brick stack at the ridge and a brick stack to the end, both dating to the 20th century. The house originally had two units but was extended to four. The centre and right-hand ranges are two storeys and an attic, while the left-hand range is single-storey and has an attic. The front elevation has a four-window range. A half-glazed four-panelled door is set within an early 19th-century reeded wood doorcase with a reeded modillion cornice. A two-light casement with cross glazing is to the left, and four-light casements are to the right. The first floor has mid-19th century two-light casements with horizontal glazing bars and painted wood lintels throughout. The attic has three roof dormers, each with a low four-light casement with horizontal glazing bars. The right return is a two-window range with small casements. The interior includes ceiling beams, and a room to the right has an 18th-century style fireplace with a moulded wood eared-architrave and a pulvinated frieze.
