Description

The Old Rectory is a circa 1830 rectory located on the north side of Main Street, Cherington. It is constructed of squared coursed limestone with ashlar dressings, and features a prominent storey band. The roof is hipped and covered in slate, with stone end stacks. The building follows a double-depth plan and presents a 5-window facade on each floor. The ground floor windows are 18-pane sashes with quoined surrounds, while the first floor windows are 12-pane sashes. A single Gothic-style sash window is located on the ground floor to the right. The main entrance is through a 4-panelled door with a plain overlight, situated within a 20th-century, single-storey stone porch. The interior remains uninspected.
