Description
This vehicle shed, now used as a garage, dates from the 18th or 19th century and is located approximately 23 meters west of Shelfield Lodge Farmhouse. It is constructed of red brick and features buttresses, with weatherboard gables, one of which has 20th-century boarding. The roof is covered with plain tiles and the shed has a double end entry plan with three bays, fitted with 20th-century doors. The roof structure is a through purlin type. The shed was likely used to house a gig or trap and is part of an interesting group that includes Shelfield Lodge, a stable, a loosebox, an archway, a cartshed, and a granary, which adds to its significance.
