Description

Nos. 10-13 on High Street in Stratford-upon-Avon are two shops built in 1790, with part of the structure on the left likely dating from an earlier period. The building is constructed of brick with buff headers and has some stuccoed sections, topped by a tile roof with a brick end stack. It stands three storeys high and features a symmetrical five-window arrangement, with a lower single-window range to the left. The top has a modillioned brick cornice.

The modern shop fronts flank the entrance, while the first floor showcases three canted oriels with cornices above 4:16:4-pane sashes; the left end oriel has 2:4:2-pane horned sashes. The windows between the oriels have rubbed brick flat arches with keys above 4-pane horned sashes and a 16-pane sash. The first floor also includes windows with similar flat arches, featuring two 4-pane sashes and three 16-pane sashes. A notable 18th-century bell-form rainwater head and downspout add character to the façade. The small section to the left has a window with a 9-pane sash on the first floor and a window with a sill and a 6-pane sash on the second floor. The rear of the building has later additions and a round-headed stair window with a sash that has thick glazing bars.
