Description
Ivy House is a house dating from the early to mid 18th century. It is constructed of coursed dressed stone with a plastered front and features a steep tile roof with coped gables and brick end stacks. The building is designed in an L-plan.
The exterior is two storeys high and has a symmetrical three-window arrangement. It includes a stone plinth and an entrance that features a doorcase with moulded pilasters, a consoled open pediment with metopes, and deep flush-panelled reveals. Above the entrance is an overlight to a six-flush-panel door, which has four upper panels that are glazed. The windows are three-light casements with iron opening casements and panelled shutters on the ground floor.
On the left return, there is a small window on each floor. The rear wing has a plastered elevation and an entrance, with a first floor that includes a three-light leaded casement and a gabled dormer with a two-light small-paned casement. The building also features an end stack and a catslide outshut to the inner return. The interior has not been inspected.
