Description
Fir Tree Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with a stone plinth, a storey band, and a moulded eaves cornice. The roof is hipped, covered in plain tiles, and features brick ridge stacks. The interior follows a central staircase plan. The farmhouse has two storeys and an attic, originally with a five-window front. The upper floor features original 18th-century cross casement windows, while the ground floor has 20th-century imitation cross casements. The windows are topped with brick flat arches, each containing a stone keyblock. A panelled and glazed door is centrally located, with a semi-circular stone pediment above. Single leaded lights, also with brick flat arches and stone keyblocks, are situated on either side of the door. The building has two hipped dormers. Additional cross casement windows are present on the left side. Inside, a dog-leg staircase with stick balusters leads to the attic.
