Description
Manor Farmhouse is an early to mid-18th century brick farmhouse, built with a Flemish bond and a stone plinth. It has a moulded stone eaves cornice and stone-coped gables on kneelers. The roof is covered with plain tiles, with large brick end stacks and a 20th-century skylight. The farmhouse has a double-depth plan and originally presented a two-storey, two-window front. It features 16-pane sashes to the left and right, and a 12-pane sash in the centre of the first floor, all with segmental arched heads. The original blocked doorway is centrally located and has a segmental arched head. The rear has further 16-pane sashes on the ground floor, and five 12-pane sashes on the first floor. A 6-panelled door with an overlight is set within a 20th-century brick porch.
Attached to the right is a former outbuilding and kitchen range, built with a stone plinth and a brick ridge stack, and containing a horizontal sliding sash window with a wooden lintel. To the left of the farmhouse is an 18th-century brick gateway with piers that have moulded stone cornices and ball finials. The interior was not inspected, but is likely to be of interest.
