Description

The Long Itchington Church of England First School and School House were built in 1856 by N.H. Dykes. The building is constructed of squared coursed lias with a plinth, quoins, and coped gables on kneelers. It has a 20th-century tile roof with a stone lateral stack and a timber bellcote. The design is in the Early English style, comprising two ranges joined by a passageway containing a plank door within a pointed arch. The range to the left has a two-light mullioned and transomed window in the gable end, along with four two- and three-light mullioned windows on the side. A five-light mullioned and transomed window and a door within a pointed arch are situated in the rear gable end. The range to the right features a pointed-arch doorway and two- and three-light mullioned windows in the gable end, with further mullioned windows on the side. A further range to the rear of the two main ranges includes a three-light window with bar tracery within a pointed arch to the gable end. The building is included in the listing primarily for its group value.
