Description
The War Memorial Lychgate in Radway is a memorial structure made of oak, featuring a steeply pitched and flared hipped roof covered with slates. It consists of a pair of posts, each adorned with three pegged and chamfered curved braces at the top, along with a pair of tenoned curved braces supporting a timber base that is set on stone. Timber gates hang from the posts, and on the insides of the gates are two dedicatory plaques that list the names of individuals from Radway who died in the First and Second World Wars. The lychgate was dedicated in 1923 by the Bishop of Coventry, and the roll of honour includes Field Marshall Earl Haig. It holds group value with St. Peter's Church.
