Description
The statue and garden walls at Radway Grange date from the mid-18th century. The statue depicts Caractacus in chains and is made of carved limestone, although it is damaged. It stands on a square plinth against the garden wall and is said to have been created for a niche inside Edgehill Tower, now known as The Castle Inn, but was found to be too large for that location. The garden walls are constructed of regularly coursed ironstone with a flat projecting coping, while the rear is made of red brick. The right return section features a rusticated arched gateway with a 20th-century wrought-iron gate. To the right, there is a lower drystone section. This structure is included for its group value.
