Description
West Meads is a house dating from the late 17th century, with an early 20th-century wing. It is constructed from squared coursed limestone and ironstone, featuring ironstone quoins, lintels, a moulded storey band, and a plinth. The roof is hipped with old tiles, and it has brick ridge and end stacks with stone bases. The building has two storeys plus an attic and a U-shaped plan, with a five-window range.
The entrance is located in a two-storey gabled porch on the side of the wing, which has a 20th-century door with a dressed surround, a four-centred arch, hood moulds, and label stops. On both sides of the porch, there are wood cross casements with leaded lights on both floors, and stone lintels with keyblocks. The central recessed range of the main facade features a 20th-century door with a dressed surround and 12-pane cross windows with lintels and keyblocks. The projecting wings have cross windows, with those on the right also featuring leaded lights.
At the rear, there is a large early 20th-century stone wing. The interior has not been inspected.
