Description
This is a row of six headstones located approximately 5.5 meters north of the tower of the Church of St. Peter and St. Clare. They date from the early to mid-18th century and are made of carved ironstone. The first and fifth headstones are quite similar, featuring a moulded segmental top adorned with a sunflower and a swag with putti's heads. The second headstone, dated 1739, and the fourth headstone also share a similar design, with a segmental top that includes a head and an elaborate swag and drapery framing an oval panel. The sixth headstone, dating from the mid-18th century, displays scrollwork. These headstones are included for their group value.
