Description
Ashbury Cottage is a house dating from the mid-18th century, with later alterations. It is constructed of reddish-brown brick, primarily in stretcher bond, and features timber-framing on the rear outshut, topped with a gabled plain-tile roof.
The building is two stories high and has a two-window range, with an outshut at the rear. The central entrance consists of a plank door framed with moulded wood and a hood, flanked by 20th-century two-light casement windows set beneath elliptical arches. The upper floor has 20th-century windows that disrupt the cogged eaves band. There is a left external stack and a right end stack, both with cornices. The rear outshut displays evidence of timber-framing and is covered by a catslide roof.
The property is part of a group that includes an outhouse and a pump.
