Description

This is a late 17th-century house, later altered, and now divided into four flats. It is located on the north side of High Street in Bidford-on-Avon. The building is constructed of lias and limestone in courses of varying widths, with a later 19th-century brick addition above the first-floor window level. It has a tile roof and a stone chimney stack with brick shafts set diagonally, along with a brick internal chimney. The building's layout is L-shaped, with 19th-century additions to the rear. It is two storeys high with an attic and a cross gable, originally featuring a two-window front. On the left, a mid-19th-century rendered projection has a gabled roof with fish scale tiles and a 19th-century four-panelled door under a stone hood mould. The ground floor has stone mullioned windows— a two-light window adjoins a porch, and a four-light window with a renewed central mullion. The first floor and attic have 19th-century casement windows set within brick segmental arches. The left return facade features two three-light mullioned windows and casements above. The ground floor rooms on the left retain stop-chamfered spine beams with run-out stops.
