Description

49 and 51 High Street are houses with origins dating back to the 17th century, although the front was altered in the early to mid-19th century. They are constructed from colour washed brick and feature a slate roof with a central brick chimney stack. The buildings are two storeys high and have a four-window range. To the left, there is a 20th-century door and a plate glass window set beneath a wide brick segmental arch. The windows are 16-pane sashes with brick flat arches. The rear of the buildings shows some exposed framing, and the ground floor interior of No. 51 has been altered, with not all features being authentic. The interior of No. 51 was the only part inspected.
