Description
This chest tomb, located approximately 5.5 meters east of the northeast corner of the chancel of the Church of St. Peter and St. Clare, dates from the 17th century and commemorates Joane Dod among others. It is made of carved ironstone. The long side facing north features a central oval panel with cornucopiae, while the south side has a central moulded panel with a shield on the right and an inscription on the left. Both the east and west sides are adorned with drapery, and the tomb is supported by colonnettes with a moulded slab on top.
