Description
Berry Close is a house dating from the mid-17th century. It is constructed of squared coursed limestone with quoins and features a slate roof with rendered brick ridge and end stacks. The building has a 4-unit plan and is two stories high, with a four-window range that includes ovolo-moulded two- and three-light mullioned windows. There is one 19th-century casement window on the ground floor. The main entrance features a 17th-century ovolo-moulded doorway with a four-centred head, which has a 20th-century door and hood to the center left. There is also a plank door in an inserted opening to the center right, along with a plinth, 19th- and 20th-century casements, and another plank door at the rear. Inside, the house is noted for its stop-chamfered spine beams and two large open fireplaces with stop-chamfered bressumers, as well as some stone flagged floors.
