Description
This former estate house, located approximately 50 metres to the north-east of Walton Hall, was built in 1869 and has been converted to time-share accommodation. It may have been designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott for Sir Charles Mordaunt. The building is constructed of brick with ashlar dressings and features a Welsh slate roof with a brick end stack and a cross-axial stack. It has an L-plan shape with a re-entrant addition.
The exterior is two storeys high and has a two-window range. It includes a stone-coped plinth, flush ashlar bands, and a plain stepped cornice. The central entrance features a segmental-pointed head and an overlight above a plank door, topped by a large bracketed lean-to canopy supported on moulded corbels. The ground floor has three-light single-chamfered mullioned-and-transomed windows, while the first floor has a similar window in the gable to the right and a cross-mullioned window in a hipped half-dormer to the left. The building also has dated rainwater heads, a left return lateral stack, and a cross-axial stack on the wing, both with brick caps. The interior has not been inspected.
