Description
This is a terrace of three houses located at 21, 23, 23A, and 25 Birmingham Road, built between 1829 and 1830. The houses are constructed of brick with buff headers and feature a slate roof with two brick cross-axial stacks. Designed in the Georgian style, the terrace is two storeys high and has a five-window range.
The building includes a plaster plinth and plain eaves. To the left of the centre, there is a carriage entrance with a rubbed brick elliptical-headed arch, along with entrances for No. 21 to its left and No. 25 to the right end. No. 23A features an ogee-headed entrance set in a round-headed recess to the right of centre. Each entrance is fitted with six-fielded-panel doors.
The windows are adorned with sills and have rubbed brick flat arches above 16-pane sash windows. The ground floor has windows to the left of the entrances for Nos. 23A and 25. The left end of the terrace features a canted bay window with a configuration of two, four, four, and two-pane horned sashes, topped with a cornice and an elliptical-headed tympanum. On the first floor, there is a blind window above the entrance to No. 23A. The rear of the terrace includes gabled wings and a workshop range.
