Description

Hillcrest Cottage is a late 17th and early 18th century cottage located in Binswood End, Harbury. It is constructed of squared coursed limestone and has a moulded wood bracket cornice. The roof is tiled, with a stone stack at the left end. The cottage follows a two-unit plan, with an outshut at the rear. It is two storeys and attic in height, with a two-window front. The main entrance is at the rear. Casement windows are present throughout, with glazing bars. The ground floor features an old four-light wood and iron casement to the left, and two-light casements to the centre and right. The first floor has 20th-century three-light casements. Two dormers in the roof each contain two-light windows with horizontal glazing bars. The windows have blackened wood lintels. A late 20th century rear wing has a half-glazed door. The interior includes ceiling beams and an open fireplace.
