Description
Burmington Farm's shelter shed, located approximately 5 meters east of the farmhouse, dates from the 18th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble at the rear, with a roof made of corrugated asbestos and stone slate. The front of the shed is supported by wooden pillars set on stone bases. The structure features nine bays, with two bays projecting forward to the left. Inside, there is a through-purlin roof with tie beams, and some trusses include struts between the tie beams and principal rafters. This shelter shed is included for its group value with the farmhouse.
