Description

Hazlewood is a house likely dating from the late 18th or early 19th century, with subsequent additions and alterations. It is constructed of reddish brick in a Flemish bond pattern and has a plain-tile roof. The house is laid out in an L-shaped plan. The exterior features three storeys and three first-floor windows. A central part-glazed door is sheltered by a 20th-century hood, and is flanked by canted bays with multi-pane windows and cornices. The first floor has a central oriel window positioned between metal three-light mullion and transom windows, all set beneath segmental arches. The second floor features a central semi-circular window with glazing bars, set within a brick arch, and flanked by two-light metal casement windows with glazing bars. A modillion eaves band runs along the top of the house, and it has end chimney stacks with cornices. The interior was not inspected.
