Description

Little Lawford Hall is a house that is said to have been built as stables, dated 1604 but possibly with earlier origins. It was converted and altered in the late 18th century to early 19th century. The building is constructed of coursed squared limestone with red sandstone dressings and features a slate roof with a parapet and coped gable parapets, along with brick ridge stacks with four and two square flues.

The hall has a four-unit plan, is two storeys high with an attic, and has a four-window range. It includes a splayed plinth and string course, as well as irregular quoins. The main front is regular, featuring a late 18th century to early 19th century square porch with a rendered elliptical archway that contains a 19th century moulded six-panelled door. The parapet has an eroded finial, and there is a datestone above. The windows are three-light casements with Gothick-arched lights and glazing bars, complete with hood moulds. The ground floor windows are cut into the plinth, and the fourth bay does not have a window.

On the left return side, there is a two-light attic casement with cross glazing, while the right return side features a 20th century three-light casement with an old painted wood lintel and a two-light leaded Gothick attic casement. The irregular rear of the building has two dormers. The interior has not been inspected. It is noted that the original Little Lawford Hall was demolished in 1790.
