Description

Avon Lodge is a late 18th-century farmhouse situated on Coventry Road in Long Lawford. The building is constructed of whitewashed brick with a string course band and has late 20th-century tile roofs with stone-coped gable parapets. It features rendered brick end stacks. The house follows a central staircase plan and is two storeys and an attic in height, originally with a three-window range, and includes a lower, single-bay range to the left. The main range is symmetrical, with a six-panelled door and a moulded wooden doorcase featuring pilaster strips and a pediment hood supported on shaped brackets. The ground floor windows are C19 tripartite sashes, while the first floor has 16-pane and a central 12-pane sash windows, all with segmental arches. The left range has no windows to the front elevation. The left return side features a late 19th or early 20th-century two-storey canted bay with a three-light wood mullioned and transomed window containing glazing bars. The interior remains uninspected.
