Description
The Smithy is a house that was formerly a smithy, dating from the late 17th century. It is timber-framed but has been refaced in brick and rendered. The roof is made of concrete tiles and features brick stacks at the ridge and end. The building has one storey plus an attic and includes a three-window range, with a later extension on the right. The front has a 20th-century plank door and three 20th-century bow windows on the ground floor. There are dormers with 19th-century two-light casements in the center and to the right. A lean-to extension is located on the right, along with 20th-century extensions at the rear. Inside, the roof is said to remain intact, and there are some chamfered beams, an open fireplace, and remnants of a blacksmith's oven.
