Description
Manor Farmhouse is a farmhouse built in 1654, with later alterations and a fragment of a demolished 19th-century wing at the rear. It is constructed of square coursed ironstone, while the front range is mostly rendered. The tile roof features coped gable parapets with moulded kneelers, and a large stone stack with a brick shaft is located in the left corner. The building has an L-plan layout, with the wing on the left side at the rear. It stands two storeys high with an attic and has a three-window range. The main front facing the garden includes a 20th-century glazed panelled door, flanked by 20th-century wood mullioned and transomed windows. The centre of the front rises to three storeys and has moulded three-light stone mullioned windows. A datestone marked TCA/1654 is located on the gable. The return sides feature two-light mullioned windows, with the left side having a hood mould. The main entrance in the wing has an open-fronted porch and a plank door. To the right, there is a renewed five-light mullioned window and a three-light window above, both with hood moulds. Inside, the Victoria County History records moulded ceiling beams on the ground floor and stop-chamfered beams on the first floor, and it is said to have an open fireplace.
