Description

This is a 17th-century house, originally built as a single dwelling, and now divided into three cottages at 17, 19, and 21 The Crescent, Brinklow. The building has a timber frame with brick infill and a brick facade facing the front. It is topped with a new tile roof and incorporates brick stacks positioned along the ridge and at the front of the ridge, to the left.

The house is one storey high, with an attic, and originally had a three-window front. Cross-wings are situated at the left and right, set flush with the central bay and extending to the rear. There are 20th-century doors to the left and right, while the centre doorway has a 19th-century four-panelled door surrounded by moulded wood pilasters and a gabled hood. 20th-century casement windows are found on the left and in a central dormer, with 19th-century three-light casements on the ground floor of the centre section, and 20th-century casements to the right.

The rear of the building has extensive exposed timber framing, including queen post and queen strut trusses in the gable ends. Internally, some original timber framing remains, including some chamfered beams.
