Description

Nos 44 and 46 on The Crescent are 17th-century houses. They have a timber frame with brick facades and brick infill at the rear. The roof is made of corrugated iron over thatch, with brick stacks located at the ridge and end. The houses are one storey plus an attic and feature a three-window range, with no. 44 being a later extension. There is a 19th-century plank door located to the centre left and another to the right, both within plain wood surrounds and brick segmental arches. The windows are 19th-century three-light casements. Inside, no. 46 retains tie-beam trusses from the original cottage, a long chamfered spine beam with stepped stops, and an open fireplace.
