Description

Canal bridge, built around 1800 and repaired in the late 20th century. It is made of limestone ashlar, with the top course of the parapet renewed using rendered concrete blocks. The bridge features a string course and rounded coping, with a semi-circular arch. The ends curve out to square piers, and there is a cast-iron number plate. The Ashby-de-la-Zouch Canal was started in 1794 and completed in 1804.
