Description
The boathouse on the south side of The Pool at Combe Abbey dates from around 1770 to 1778, with later alterations. It is likely designed by Lancelot (Capability) Brown. The structure is built of red brick and has a plain-tile roof, and it is a single-storey building. It is open at one end facing The Pool, with an entrance door located on the opposite side. The king-post roof construction may date from the early 19th century. The boathouse is noted on a plan from 1778.
