Description
4 and 5 Daventry Road is a house that has been converted into a shop and dwelling, dating back to 1753. The building is constructed of colourwashed roughcast brick and features a 20th-century tiled roof with brick ridge and right end stacks. It has a four-unit plan, likely with later wings added to the rear. The structure stands two storeys high with an attic and has a four-window range.
On the right side, there is a two-bay 20th-century shop front that includes two canted bays and a glazed door, all featuring glazing bars and situated under a continuous canopy. A string course band is raised in the centre, possibly indicating a former doorway. Below this, there is a painted datestone with the initials BBR. The building has three-light casements with glazing bars throughout, with all but the fourth bay featuring segmental arches. Additionally, there are four 20th-century box roof dormers.
