Description
The Nurses House is a mid-19th century house located in All Saints Square, Bedworth. It is built of Flemish bond brick with painted stone or rendered dressings. The roof, added in the late 20th century, is covered with plain tiles and features brick ridge and left end stacks that have square shafts, moulded stone string courses, cornices, and embattled tops. The house has a two-unit baffle entry plan and consists of two storeys and a basement, with a symmetrical front and a three-window range. The rusticated basement includes windows, and the entrance features a 19th or 20th-century six-panelled door accessed by a flight of stone steps. The late 20th-century top-hung windows include a narrower central window, and all openings are framed with chamfered, eared, and shouldered architraves. A moulded cornice runs along the top. The interior has not been inspected. The Nurses House is part of the Chamberlaine's Almshouses complex and is included for its group value.
