Description
The inner precinct wall, located approximately 30 metres west of Priory Farmhouse, is a Grade II* listed structure. This wall is part of the west claustral range and is constructed from irregularly coursed sandstone. It features remains of doorways, including two-centred chamfered archways and ogee arches. At the north end, the wall is integrated into the former granary and mill house. This structure was originally part of the inner precinct wall of the priory of Augustinian Canons, which was founded in 1336 by William de Clinton, Earl of Huntingdon, and consecrated in 1342. It is also designated as a scheduled monument.
