Description
Beehive Cottage is an entrance lodge built in the early 19th century. It is constructed of coursed squared sandstone and features a thatched pyramidal roof. There is a brick external stack at the rear that dates from the 19th or 20th century. The cottage has an octagonal plan and is designed in the cottage ornee style, characterized by pointed arched openings. It is a single storey with an attic and has a one-window range. The front facing the drive has a plank door, while the roof dormer and canted sides include casements with two arched lights. There are late 20th-century one-storey additions that are not of special architectural interest. Beehive Cottage was built as a lodge to Merevale Park.
