Description
This cattle byre, built in 1772, is located approximately 50 metres south of Shustoke House Farmhouse. It is constructed from red brick with sandstone dressings and features a plain-tiled roof with an end parapet at the east gable end. The structure consists of four bays that form part of the south side of the yard and is a single-storey building. The open sides are supported by Roman Doric columns made of sandstone, although some of the openings have been blocked. At the west gable end, there is an engaged pier that marks the cartway entry to the yard. Inside, the roof has through-purlins with inclined struts.
