Description
Metlins Cottage is a house dating from the mid-17th century. It features a timber frame with later red brick infill and has a plain-tiled roof with a red brick ridge stack. The building has a lobby-entry and a three-bay plan, with a service range at the rear that was rebuilt in the 19th century. It is one storey high with an attic and includes a gabled dormer. There are two 20th-century wood casements on either side of the doorway, which is sheltered by a 20th-century timber open-sided gable porch. The entrance has a six flush panelled door and small framing with upward bracing. Inside, there are back-to-back inglenook hearths.
