Description
Dumble Farmhouse is a house dating from 1595. It features a timber-frame structure with rendered infill and a plain-tile roof, which includes a red brick ridge stack. There is a projecting side stack on the west cross-wing. The building is constructed from squared and irregularly coursed sandstone, topped with a moulded stone cornice. The stone displays the initials W.P., F.P., and A.P., along with the date. The house has three diagonally-set shafts made of red brick and is designed as a double-ended hall house, standing two storeys high.
On the first floor, there are three 20th-century wood casements, while the ground floor has two casements and a doorway featuring a late 20th-century door, positioned away from the original hearth. The ground floor framing has been rendered. The west cross-wing also has two storeys and an attic, with its ground floor rendered as well. Each gable end features a late 20th-century wood casement on both storeys. The exposed framing consists of small panels with short upward bracing.
