Description

The Shorthose Monument is a chest tomb located approximately 6 meters east of the vestry of the Church of St. Editha in Tamworth. It dates from 1830 and is constructed of ashlar with slate panels. The monument features reeded balusters and ashlar end panels, with one side panel displaying an inscription. The top slab has a moulded edge. This tomb commemorates Thomas Shorthose, who died in 1830, and his wife, who died in 1798.
