Description
This stone post, dating from the 14th to 16th century, is made of millstone grit and stands 4 feet 9 inches tall. It has a truncated shaft and is set in a base of roughly hewn stone. The post is referenced in an account of the perambulation of the boundaries of Bucknall Manor from 1803, suggesting it was likely used as a boundary marker.
