Description

Stocks, probably from the early 18th century, are located on the west side of Stirton with Thorlby. They are constructed from millstone grit and consist of two upright posts and a base rail. The left-hand post is approximately 60 cm tall and is now broken, while the right-hand post stands about 90 cm tall and has a rectangular section with a mortice on the inner side. The base rail measures around 120 cm wide and originally featured four leg recesses, but the right-hand side is partly damaged, leaving only two complete recesses on the left. The wooden top rail is now missing.
