Description

Bay Horse Farmhouse, originally an inn, dates to the late 18th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century and the 20th century. The farmhouse is constructed of painted squared rubble with painted stone dressings, and has a stone slate roof. It is two storeys high. The original double-fronted appearance has been altered by a mid-19th century single-bay extension to the left. A former central entrance retains a plain surround with a moulded hood, and has a six-panel door, with the upper four panels glazed. A right-hand entrance has a thin, chamfered surround to a partly glazed door with twelve panes. The windows include two ground floor and two upper floor windows with plain surrounds and recessed, flat-faced mullions, each with four-pane sashes. The left-hand extension is built with watershot masonry and features one window per storey, each with a plain surround and four-pane sashes. The left-hand gable end, former left-hand gable, and a ridge stack on the right side all feature.
