Description
White House Farmhouse is a farmhouse built around 1790, with some alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of squared rubble with stone dressings and features a stone slate roof. The building has a central staircase plan and stands two storeys high. Originally, it had a double front, but a one-bay extension was added to the left around 1900. The former central entrance has a plain surround and a half-glazed door.
On the ground floor, there are two windows and on the upper floor, there are also two windows, all with three lights, plain surrounds, and recessed flat-faced mullions. The windows have 20th-century two-pane casements and fixed lights. The left-hand bay features a four-light recessed flat-faced mullioned window on the ground floor and a three-light version on the upper floor, both also with two-pane casements and fixed lights. The building has ridge stacks at both the right-hand and left-hand gable ends, as well as a stack at the former left-hand gable.
